French Government Cuts 2026 Economic Growth Forecast to 0.7%

France has revised down its 2026 economic growth forecast to 0.7% from an earlier projection of 0.9%. This marks the second downward revision this year, primarily attributed to weaker-than-expected first-quarter performance and the anticipated impact of tensions in the Middle East on second-quarter economic activity. The new forecast aligns with estimates from France's national statistics agency Insee, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
