Nepal's Central Bank to Issue Rs 20 Billion in 1-Year Bonds

Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank of Nepal, has announced the issuance of 20 billion Nepalese Rupees (Rs) worth of one-year bonds, named "NRB Bond 2084 'Cha'". These bonds will be issued on Asar 24, 2083, with interest rates determined through a bidding process and paid out every six months. The principal will be repaid upon maturity a year later on Asar 24, 2084. Only licensed Class 'A', 'B', and 'C' banks and financial institutions are eligible to participate in the bidding. These bonds can be used as collateral for loans and count towards statutory liquidity ratio requirements.
