Hungarian Central Bank Cuts Base Rate by 25 Basis Points to 5.75%

The Monetary Council of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) reduced the central bank base rate by 25 basis points to 5.75 percent at its meeting on July 21, 2026, effective July 22, 2026. This decision was influenced by more favorable inflation developments than previously projected and a persistent lower risk premium on domestic assets.
