China's Central Bank Pledges Timely Monetary Policy Adjustments and Ample Liquidity

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) announced its commitment to maintaining an "appropriately loose monetary policy" and ensuring "ample liquidity" in the second half of 2026. This follows a work meeting where the central bank also pledged to facilitate panda bond issuance, steadily promote the high-level opening of the financial market, and support the debt risk resolution of local government financing vehicles. The move aims to enhance financial support for the real economy amidst a slowdown in economic growth, which registered 4.3% in the second quarter, its slowest in over three years.
