Bank of England Calls for Enhanced AI Testing to Combat Cyber Threats

Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey has emphasized the critical need for robust stress testing, penetration testing, and pre-deployment model assessment to address cyber threats posed by advanced AI. Bailey also advocated for stronger international coordination in testing frontier AI models, warning that such technology could accelerate cyber-attacks, increase the disruptiveness of outages, and make criminal scams more convincing for financial institutions and their customers.
