FDIC Establishes Independent Supervisory Appeals Office for Banks

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has formally launched its Office of Supervisory Appeals, providing banks with a new, more independent process for challenging FDIC supervisory findings. This standalone structure will serve as a final level of review for disputes over supervisory determinations, with reviewing officials operating independently from supervisory staff and adhering to confidentiality and conflict-of-interest requirements.
