U.S. Nonfarm Business Sector Productivity Rises 2.2 Percent in Q2 2026

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased by 2.2 percent from the second quarter of 2025 to the second quarter of 2026. This rise was driven by a 2.5 percent increase in output, while hours worked went up by 0.2 percent. Unit labor costs in the nonfarm business sector saw a 1.4 percent increase.
