US Mortgage Rates Rise for 30-Year and 15-Year Fixed Loans

Average interest rates for 30-year fixed mortgages increased to 6.60% from 6.56% last week, while 15-year fixed-rate mortgages climbed to 5.88% from 5.84%. Conversely, the average rate for 30-year fixed-rate jumbo mortgages saw a slight decrease, falling to 6.71% from 6.77%. These movements follow the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) decision to maintain the federal funds rate steady throughout 2026, after a series of cuts in late 2025.
