FinCEN Ends Beneficial Ownership Reporting for US Companies

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has issued a final rule permanently eliminating beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements for US companies and persons under the Corporate Transparency Act. Effective August 14, 2026, this rule removes reporting obligations for millions of US small businesses and clarifies issues regarding FinCEN identifiers and company applicants.
