Central banks reported net gold purchases of 23 tonnes in July, continuing a trend of accumulation. Emerging markets, particularly China (20t) and Poland (8t), were the primary drivers. The Bank of Korea also announced its first official gold allocation in 13 years, estimated at US$250 million.
