Euro Area Retail Trade Volume Falls 0.6% in July 2026

Seasonally adjusted retail trade volume in the euro area decreased by 0.6% month-on-month in July 2026, while in the wider European Union, it fell by 0.4%. Non-food retail, a key indicator for apparel and home-goods sourcing, saw a sharper decline of 1.4% in the euro area and 1.1% in the EU. Year-on-year, calendar-adjusted retail sales rose 0.6% in the euro area and 1.0% in the EU.
