Citi Becomes First US Bank to Process Live Swift Ledger Transactions

Citi has achieved a milestone by becoming the first U.S. bank to process live transactions on Swift's blockchain-based ledger. These transactions, completed with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC), are part of a pilot program running from July to December 2026. The initiative explores how shared ledger technology can facilitate always-on, cross-border payments and enhance liquidity management by connecting digital and traditional financial infrastructure.
