The U.S. goods and services trade deficit expanded in July 2026, increasing to $88.6 billion from a revised $71.2 billion in June. This widening of the deficit was a result of an increase in imports coupled with a decrease in exports. The goods deficit alone rose by $17.6 billion in July, reaching $119.6 billion, while the services surplus saw a marginal increase of $0.2 billion to $31.0 billion.
