Austrian Central Bank Trims 2026 Growth Forecast, Raises 2027 Outlook Amid Improving Global Trade
The Austrian National Bank (OeNB) has revised its economic forecasts, lowering its GDP growth projection for 2026 to 0.5% from 0.7% due to a weaker first half of the year. However, the central bank increased its 2027 growth forecast to 1.3% from 1.1%, citing an improved economic outlook for the second half of 2026 driven by stronger-than-expected global trade. Inflation forecasts for both 2026 and 2027 were also slightly trimmed.
