U.S. Census Bureau Releases August 2026 Business Formation Statistics

The U.S. Census Bureau today released new Business Formation Statistics (BFS) for August 2026. These statistics provide timely and high-frequency information on new business applications and formations across the United States and Puerto Rico. The full BFS dataset includes 12 series, comprising four application and eight formation metrics, with both seasonally and not seasonally adjusted data available for the nation, regions, and individual states.
