A new PwC 2026 Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey indicates a widening AI skills gap, with a majority of workers at risk of being left behind as access to learning and development resources declines. The survey, which interviewed nearly 50,000 workers across 48 countries, also highlights increasing cost-of-living pressures, with only a third of workers reporting having money left at the end of the month, an 8% decrease year-on-year.
