US Consumer Confidence Deteriorates in September Amid Worsening Economic Outlook
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index declined by 6.7 points to 81.9 in September, marking a third consecutive monthly drop. Both consumers' assessments of current business and labor market conditions, as well as their short-term expectations, worsened. Inflation expectations also rose, and more consumers viewed their family's current financial situation as 'bad' than 'good' for only the second time in four years.
