Merit Medical Recalls Dialysis Catheter Component Over Splitting Defect

Merit Medical is recalling a specific component of its dialysis catheter kits, the 16F Dual-Valved Splittable Sheath Introducer. The recall stems from a design flaw that may prevent the sheath from splitting as intended during use. This issue carries a risk of serious patient injuries, including hemorrhage and embolization, with two such incidents already reported.
