WHO Report Details Global Impact of Foodborne Illnesses

The World Health Organization has published new global data revealing that unsafe food causes an estimated 866 million illnesses and 1.5 million deaths annually. Children under five years old are disproportionately affected, accounting for nearly a third of all cases. The report underscores the need for a "One Health" strategy to combat rising contamination risks linked to climate change and antimicrobial resistance.
