PAHO Boosts Caribbean Ebola Preparedness Amid Intensifying African Outbreak

The Pan American Health Organization is increasing support for Caribbean nations to strengthen their readiness for Ebola. This initiative follows the World Health Organization's declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The declaration was prompted by an escalating outbreak of the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, which has resulted in hundreds of cases and dozens of deaths.
