Indian Health Service Increases Funding for Diabetes Program

The Indian Health Service (IHS) has announced a significant funding increase for the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI). Following congressional reauthorization for fiscal year 2026, the program will receive $200 million, marking a $41 million boost from the previous year. This supplemental funding will be distributed among 310 current grant recipients to support ongoing efforts against diabetes in Native American communities.
