Experimental Obesity Drug Outperforms Wegovy in Phase 2 Clinical Trial

A new glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) obesity drug candidate, ecnoglutide, has demonstrated superior weight loss compared to semaglutide (Wegovy) in a head-to-head Phase 2 clinical trial. Results presented at the American Diabetes Association's Scientific Sessions showed a 12.8% weight reduction with ecnoglutide over 20 weeks. This suggests a potentially more effective treatment option for obesity.
