FDA Approves First Human Trial for Novel Proton Therapy in Cancer

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted an Investigational Device Exemption for ConformalFLASH proton therapy. This approval allows for the first human clinical study of this ultra-high-dose-rate radiation treatment in the United States. The trial, set to begin in summer 2026, will explore a new approach to cancer treatment.
