CDC Updates Public on Infant Botulism Outbreak Linked to Recalled Powdered Infant Formula
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an update regarding an infant botulism outbreak, with three infants in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington affected after consuming Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula. All three infants, aged 2-5 months, were hospitalized and treated with BabyBIG®, the FDA-approved treatment for infant botulism. Nara Organics recalled all its Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula products on June 13, 2026, and testing of formula samples is ongoing. Parents and caregivers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled formula and monitor infants for symptoms of botulism for a month after last consumption.
