WHO developing new guidelines for noncommunicable disease management during pregnancy

The World Health Organization (WHO) is in the process of creating updated recommendations to improve care for pregnant and postpartum women affected by noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity are increasingly contributing to maternal illness and death globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. An expert meeting is scheduled to ensure these new guidelines are practical and responsive to diverse health system realities.
