FDA Authorizes First Generic Single-Dose Influenza Medication

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the initial generic version of baloxavir marboxil, a single-dose treatment for influenza. Developed by Norwich Pharmaceuticals, this approval provides a more accessible and affordable option for patients aged five and above. The new generic is available in advance of the upcoming 2026-2027 flu season.
