Trial Demonstrates Embolization Reduces Chronic Subdural Hematoma Recurrence

The MEMBRANE randomized controlled trial, published in JAMA Neurology, indicates that adding middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAe) to standard care significantly lowers the recurrence of chronic subdural hematoma. The study also showed a trend towards reduced all-cause mortality in the embolization group. These findings strengthen the evidence for MMA embolization as an important treatment option for this common neurological condition.
