African CDC Urges Greater Domestic Funding for Ebola Response

The Africa CDC Director General has called on African nations to increase their financial contributions to the ongoing Ebola outbreak response and vaccine development efforts in Congo and Uganda. This appeal highlights the need for greater self-reliance in addressing health crises on the continent, rather than depending primarily on international aid. The current outbreak has resulted in over 200 fatalities and nearly 900 confirmed cases since mid-May.
