Cancer Drug Combination Fails to Meet Survival Endpoint in Colorectal Cancer Trial

A Phase 3 trial investigating zanzalintinib combined with atezolizumab did not achieve its primary goal of significantly improving overall survival in a subgroup of metastatic colorectal cancer patients. While a non-statistically significant trend was observed, the dual primary endpoint was not met. The safety profile of the combination therapy showed a higher incidence of severe treatment-related adverse events compared to the control arm.
