Study Suggests Link Between Low Testosterone and Higher Cancer Risk in Men
New research published in Lancet Healthy Longevity indicates that men with very low testosterone levels may face an elevated risk of both fatal and non-fatal cancer later in life. An international study of over 26,000 men found an 18% higher likelihood of cancer-related death associated with low testosterone, though this link did not extend to prostate cancer. Prostate cancer risk appeared more connected to low levels of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) and luteinising hormone.
