Study Suggests Latest COVID-19 Vaccine Lowers Cardiovascular Risk in Veterans

A recent study published in JAMA Internal Medicine indicates that the 2024–2025 COVID-19 vaccine is associated with a significant reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) among U.S. veterans. Analyzing over a million records, researchers found a 37.7% decrease in COVID-related MACE over eight months for those who also received the flu vaccine. This benefit was particularly notable for veterans aged 75 and older, who saw a 50.7% risk reduction.
