A global consortium of medical professionals and patient groups has announced in The Lancet a new name for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). This change aims to provide greater clarity by emphasizing the endocrine and metabolic aspects of the condition, moving away from an outdated focus solely on ovarian cysts.
