AbbVie's Upadacitinib (RINVOQ®) Receives Positive CHMP Opinion for Non-segmental Vitiligo

AbbVie announced that the European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has issued a positive opinion recommending the approval of upadacitinib (RINVOQ®; 15 mg, once daily) for treating adult and adolescent patients with non-segmental vitiligo (NSV). If approved by the European Commission, upadacitinib would be the first systemic medication for this chronic autoimmune disease, supported by Phase 3 clinical study data showing significant improvements in total body and facial repigmentation.
