U.S. CDC Expands Lassa Fever Surveillance and Response Efforts in Nigeria

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is expanding its Lassa fever surveillance, laboratory services, and public awareness campaigns across Nigeria. These interventions aim to strengthen early detection, protect healthcare workers, and enhance community response to outbreaks. The CDC is supporting outbreak coordination, frontline healthcare worker protection, increased laboratory capacity, and active case-finding and contact tracing in several Nigerian states.
