WHO Declares Hantavirus Outbreak Over, Reports on Expanding Ebola Outbreak in DRC

The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially declared the global hantavirus outbreak over, with no new cases reported since May 25, 2026. The outbreak resulted in 13 cases and three deaths. Concurrently, the WHO reported that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) continues to expand, with an average of 38 new confirmed cases daily over the past two weeks, bringing the total to 1,406 cases and 438 deaths.
