Clinical Trial Shows Improved Outcomes for Advanced Neuroendocrine Tumors

Primary results from the Phase 3 COMPETE trial, published in The Lancet, indicate that 177Lu-edotreotide significantly extended progression-free survival for patients with Grade 1 or 2 somatostatin receptor-positive gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. The study also reported fewer severe treatment-related side effects compared to the existing treatment, everolimus. This suggests a potential new therapeutic option for this patient group.
