The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted approval for Trutakna (atacicept-vymj), a new treatment for adults diagnosed with primary immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN). This medication is designed to reduce proteinuria in patients at risk of disease progression. Administered as a weekly subcutaneous injection, Trutakna had previously received both priority review and Breakthrough Therapy designations.
