Ebola Outbreak Continues in DRC and Uganda, Cases Exceed 1,700

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reports that the Ebola outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo virus, is ongoing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda. The DRC has recorded a total of 1,792 confirmed cases and 625 deaths. This update notes an increase of 33 new confirmed cases and 25 deaths in the DRC since the last report, indicating the continued severity of the situation.
