WHO Reports Ebola Outbreak in Eastern Congo Spreading Faster Than Tracking Efforts

The World Health Organization reports that 80% of new Ebola cases in eastern Congo are from untraceable transmission chains, indicating the outbreak is accelerating beyond tracking capabilities. Over 1,900 people have been infected and more than 700 have died from the Bundibugyo virus, with cases also confirmed in Uganda. The high number of community deaths without medical facility access further exacerbates the risk of wider spread.
