New Treatment for Hepatitis Delta Receives FDA Approval

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Hepcludex (bulevirtide), marking the first effective treatment specifically for chronic hepatitis delta in the United States. This approval offers a significant new option for approximately 80,000 individuals co-infected with hepatitis B and delta, a condition known to cause severe liver damage and increase cancer risk.
