AI Not Automatically Better for Colorectal Cancer Screening in Lynch Syndrome, Study Finds

A study published in The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology by researchers from the University Hospital Bonn and international partners found that artificial intelligence (AI) did not significantly improve the detection of precancerous lesions during colonoscopies for individuals with Lynch syndrome in specialized centers. The findings suggest that in settings with high expertise, careful colonoscopy by experienced examiners remains the crucial factor in cancer prevention.
