Researchers observed that traditional laparoscopic surgery in these complex cases led to a fourfold higher chance of requiring unplanned postoperative biliary interventions compared to robotic methods. Although robotic procedures have higher initial operating room costs, the potential reduction in follow-up interventions might offset these expenses.
