Study Highlights Continued Availability and Additive Concerns for Compounded GLP-1 Drugs

A recent study published in JAMA Health Forum indicates that compounded GLP-1 receptor agonist products remain widely accessible through weight loss clinics and medical spas, despite official shortages of semaglutide and tirzepatide having ended. The research also raises concerns about the inclusion of unproven additives, such as B vitamins, in many of these compounded medications. The clinical benefit of these additional ingredients has not been established.
