WHO Reports Ebola Outbreak in DR Congo Exceeds 2,400 Cases, Nearing 1,000 Deaths

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that the Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo continues to expand, with 2,423 confirmed cases and 967 deaths. The outbreak has spread to five provinces, with Ituri remaining the epicenter. While high-intensity transmission persists in some areas, signs of stabilization are noted in others, and rapid response teams are being deployed to prevent further spread.
