US Cyclospora Outbreak Expands to Nine States, Over 11,500 Suspected Cases

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating a multistate Cyclospora outbreak linked to shredded iceberg lettuce from central Mexico, with over 11,500 suspected cases and 1,947 confirmed cases across nine states. The newly linked states are Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania, joining Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. Taylor Farms de Mexico has issued a voluntary recall of the implicated iceberg lettuce.
