U.S. Cyclospora Outbreak Expands, Linked to Iceberg Lettuce from Mexico

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 4,173 laboratory-confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis across 41 states, with over 7,400 additional cases under investigation since May 1. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is widening its investigation into the multistate outbreak, which has been linked to iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico. Michigan and Ohio are among the hardest-hit states, reporting 8,176 and 2,596 total cases respectively.
