New Caledonia has reported 2,221 dengue cases since January, with Wallis and Futuna also seeing a progressing dengue epidemic. Papua New Guinea officially declared a measles outbreak on July 7. Additionally, highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza has been detected in wild seabirds in Queensland, Australia, though the risk to human health is currently assessed as low.
