WHO hosts expert consultation to enhance public health research and development in Western Pacific.

The WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific convened an expert consultation in Manila on July 22-23, 2026. Over 30 experts discussed strategies to strengthen research and development (R&D) ecosystems for public health. The goal is to translate scientific advances and innovations into effective products, policies, and interventions that address national health system needs and persistent inequities in the region.
