Cipla Gains FDA Approval for Generic Version of Advair Diskus®

Cipla Limited has secured U.S. FDA approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for a generic form of Advair Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder). This therapeutically equivalent version, approved in all three strengths, is indicated for treating asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The approval is expected to increase access to a more affordable treatment option for respiratory conditions.
