Cyclospora Outbreak Continues to Grow Across U.S., Investigation into Additional Sources Underway

A multi-state outbreak of Cyclospora infections continues to expand across the U.S., with over 4,100 laboratory-confirmed cases and more than 7,400 additional suspected cases reported. Michigan alone has seen a significant spike, reporting 9,253 cases. While the FDA initially linked the outbreak to iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms' operations in central Mexico, health officials are actively searching for other potential sources. The company at the center of the outbreak reportedly complained to White House and FDA officials earlier this month regarding the government's inspection process.
